Jaipur-based Rajputana Customs have modified a Royal
Enfield Thunderbird as a custom café racer. Immediately catching the eye is the
grey paint scheme and a tiny taillamp below the seat.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird café racer gets a new
suspension setup with upside down forks up front and a monoshock setup in the
rear. These are the significant upgrades over the stock motorcycle. The number
plate shifts to the left side of the motorcycle. The wrapped exhaust is custom
built.
The front tyre of the custom built Royal Enfield
comes from MRF and the rear unit from Ralson. Brakes include a disc setup in
the front and a drum unit in the back. The bike additionally gets small fenders
at both ends, and the seat is a custom unit with a cowl in place of the rear
pillion seat.
In stock form, the Royal Enfield 499 cc single
cylinder, air-cooled mill matches to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is capable
of producing 27.2 bhp of maximum power and 41.3 Nm of peak torque in the stock
bike. Rajputana Customs, a well-known custom bike building company, was founded
by Vijay Singh Ajairajpura. He has been featured on Discovery Channel’s series
India’s Best Jobs.
