Suzuki is planning to launch the Baleno hatchback in
Indonesia in the coming weeks. The car was spotted by AutoNetzMag on public
roads during a TVC shoot in preparation for the upcoming launch. The Baleno
will be exported to Indonesia from India.
The example that was captured on video was finished
in Fire Red and is visually similar to the Baleno RS sold in India. It has the
same front and rear bumper design along with the RS’ black mesh grille.
However, unlike the black rims seen on the Baleno RS in India, this one gets
grey alloys that the standard Baleno variants come with.
The Suzuki Baleno
will be powered by the same 1.4 L K14B Petrol that powers the Ertiga with 92 PS
of maximum power and 140 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a
5 speed manual and a 4 speed automatic. The Baleno is 3,995 mm long, 1,500 mm
tall, 1,745 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2,520 mm.
In terms of features, the Suzuki Baleno is likely to
get tilt and telescopic steering, electrically adjustable mirrors, manual
leveling headlamps, multifunction steering wheel and Bluetooth support. The
front seat will be height adjustable apart from the usual slide and recline
functions. The cabin will also get automatic climate control. Cruise control
will not be on offer.
In Indonesia, the Suzuki Baleno is expected to make
its debut at GIIAS 2017 in Jakarta. The event is scheduled to kick off on
August 10 and go on until August 20. Prices of the hatchback could start at IDR 195
– 217.5 Million.
