India has launched the fifth generation Verna at a starting price of INR
799,900 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The Hyundai Verna 2017 packs 1.6 L petrol
and diesel engine options along with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission
choices.

The
petrol and diesel variants of the new Hyundai Verna are available in 6 trims
each. However, Hyundai is not offering the diesel automatic in the top of the
line SX(O) trim. The prices are introductory and will be held for the first
20,000 customers.

For
the 2017 model, the Verna ditches the 4-speed automatic in favour of a 6-speed
automatic gearbox. Also, Hyundai will no longer offer the Verna with 1.4 L
petrol and diesel engine options.
The
new Verna gets segment-first ventilated front seats and Smart Trunk
functionality. ISOFIX child seat anchorage points, ABS, and dual front airbags
are offered as standard fitment across all trims. The range-topping SX(O) trim
gets six airbags. While the manual EX trims get 15-inch steel wheels, the EX
auto grades come with 15-inch alloy wheels. Also, unlike the SX manual
variants, the SX diesel auto features a sunroof.
Highlights
of 2017 Hyundai Verna’s equipment list include 16-inch diamond cut alloy
wheels, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, projector fog lamp, LED tail lamp
graphics and a shark fin antenna. The Verna’s 7-inch touchscreen AVN supports
Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link.
There
is a total of seven colour options on offer out of which four are new.
