First images of the 2017 Suzuki Alivio from China
hint at the probable design changes on the Maruti Ciaz facelift coming in 2018.
As is the case with most Maruti facelifts, expect the majority of the changes
to be restricted to the exterior.
These spy shots, published by Auto Home, capture the
front and rear end of the refreshed Suzuki Alivio which appears ready for the
Chinese showrooms. It gets a new single piece front grille and new front and
rear bumpers. New black fog lamp enclosures are unified by a thin strip running
along the lower lip. Just above the fog lamp area are slim black inserts that
could house LED DRLs on higher trims.
At the back, the bumper does away with the cut outs
and features a dual tone look. Closer observation also reveals slightly tweaked
tail lamp detailing with an increased stop lamp size. It is possible that the
2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift will bear some of these changes when it arrives next
year, but note that Changan Suzuki has made China-only designs and facelifts in
the past.
The
Ciaz facelift will also get an updated instrument console with a new higher
resolution colour MID. Reports also suggest Suzuki’s new 1.5 L diesel engine
will replace the 1.3 L DDiS200 Fiat unit to bring the Ciaz at par with rivals
Honda City and Hyundai Verna, in performance.
