This is the updated Audi A6L, the China-only
long-wheelbase variant of the Audi A6 sedan. The A6L is made locally by the
FAW-Volkswagen joint venture.
The updates bring the Chinese A6L back in line with
the German A6, which was updated in June. There is one important new addition
to the lineup: the A6L e-tron plug-in hybrid, marking the first time that an
e-tron model is manufactured in China.
The e-tron mates a 2.0 turbo to an electric motor,
good for a combined output of 245 hp and 500 Nm. It has a electric-only range
of 50 kilometers and a electric-only top speed of 135 km/h. Top speed combined
is 210 km/h and 0-100 takes just 8.4 seconds. All that tech isn't cheap, the
A6L e-tron will sell for a steep US$ 81,000.
Other options for power are a 1.8 TSI, a 2.0 TSI, a
2.5 V6 TSI, and a 3.0 V6 TSI (twin-turbo).
