Geely MPV testing in China. This is the production version of the 'Geely MPV' concept that debuted on the Shanghai Auto Show in April. It will be launched on the Chinese car market in Q1 2018.

Power will come from various petrol engines and there will also be a hybrid and an electric. The car on the photos appears to be an electric, note the sticker on the back.

Geely sees future in the MPV segment; it has another two under development at the moment. The car on the spy shots will be positioned low-midmarket, with a price tag of about US$ 16,000. The second MPV will battle with the Baojun 730 and cost about US$ 12,000. The third MPV will move up to the US$ 22,000 territory.

MPVs are increasingly popular in China, stealing away sales froms edans and even from SUVs. MPVs indeed are the next BIG thing.
