Volvo’s parent company Geely is working on a new small SUV codenamed the Geely SX11 for China. Biauto.com has published spy shots of the SX11, revealing details of the future model’s exterior and interior.

The Geely SX11 is the first model based on the Volvo-Geely co-developed ‘BMA’ platform. Where the CMA platform is for C-segment cars, the BMA platform is for B-segment cars. Regarding the design, the Geely SX11 follows the Geely BoYue compact SUV. The SX11, with a smaller size and the roof line descending towards the rear in a more steeply, looks more dynamic and sporty.

Inside, the Geely SX11 has a much different centre console layout compared to the Geely BoYue. The central air vents are below the sleek, floating touchscreen infotainment system. The outer-end air vents look very sporty and set perfectly with the character of the B-SUV. The three-spoke steering wheel is lifted from the BoYue.

Specifications of the Geely SX11 are unknown as of now. The Chinese publication does mention a plug-in hybrid variant named SX11P, though. The standard SX11 should enter production by the end of 2019. Expect derivatives like a compact sedan and perhaps a wagon variant to trail the SX11.
