Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has officially launched
the Hyundai Tucson 2.0L CRDi variant in the country, and the oil burner is the
third variant of the third-gen Tucson to be introduced here, joining the 2.0L
Elegance and 1.6L T-GDI petrol versions in the local line-up.
The diesel is priced at RM 155,788 on-the-road
without insurance, making it the range-topping version locally. It’s powered by
a 2.0 litre CRDi mill offering 178 PS at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm from 1,750 to
2,750 rpm, and the unit is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
In terms of kit specifications, the diesel is
virtually identical to the turbocharged 1.6 litre model. Equipment includes
projector LED headlights with LED daytime running lights and cornering lights
as well as 17-inch alloys in a gunmetal finish. The SUV also comes with a smart
powered tailgate and keyless entry/push-button ignition.
Other items include a front camera, electronic
parking brake, an auto hold brake function, an eight-way power-adjustable
driver’s seat (with lumbar support), electro-chromic rear-view mirror, rear AC
vents and a Supervision 4.2-inch TFT LCD multi-info display.
Safety kit includes six airbags, ESC, vehicle
stability management, hill start assist, hill descent control, ABS with EBD and
brake assist and Isofix rear child seat anchors. Like with the turbo,
cost-option accessories are available for the 2.0L CRDi – these are made up of
leather upholstery packages (in red or white), a body kit and 19-inch
five-spoke alloys.
The company also added the addition of new
equipment for the Tucson 2.0L Elegance – the entry-level variant now comes with
fog lamps and daytime running lights. All Tucson variants come with a five-year
or 300,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty as well as a 50,000 km or
three-years free service programme.
