Maruti Suzuki has launched the Maruti Ciaz S in
India with prices starting at INR 9.39 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The S grade
brings sportier styling to the Ciaz.
The Maruti Ciaz is now available in five grades:
Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha and S. Over the Ciaz Alpha, the Ciaz S gets front,
side and rear underbody skirts and a prominent trunk lid spoiler with
high-mount stop lamp. On the inside, the black colour theme and the grey chrome
finish on the garnish are unique to the Ciaz. There is no addition to the list
comfort and convenience, infotainment and safety features from the previously
top-spec Alpha grade.
The Maruti Ciaz S is available in both petrol and
diesel engine models. The K14B 1.4-litre VVT petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS 200
diesel engines are in regular tuning, without performance modifications. The
petrol engine produces 91 hp at 6,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque at
4,000 rpm. The diesel engine develops 88 hp at 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm
at 1,750 rpm of torque. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard. There’s no
AMT option for the Ciaz S.
The Maruti Ciaz S petrol is priced at INR
939,081 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Maruti Ciaz S diesel retails at INR 1,155,409
(ex-showroom Delhi). The S grade commands a premium of about INR 11,000 over
the Alpha grade.
