The Royal Enfield Continental GT 750, featuring ABS,
has been spotted during pre-launch tests in Tamil Nadu.
The front disc is likely a 320 mm unit and the ABS
ring can be seen on the disc. One can also see the sensor wire, apart from the
brake line and the speedometer wire. The bike gets discs on both ends, but it
is unclear whether the ABS is a single-channel or dual-channel.
This particular bike is the café racer-inspired
variant with a single seat, tank recesses, and sporty handlebar. The riding
position is aggressive, and the rear view mirror is oval for optimal
visibility. The rear gets a saree guard as well. One can also see the test
equipment wires in the engine portion. The powerplant is a 750cc parallel unit
with oil cooling. The engine reportedly features a 270-degree crank for optimal
refinement. The radiator is longitudinally mounted on the double cradle frame.
The bike gets dual black exhausts, and the rear tyre looks like Pirelli Phantom
Sportscomp.
For suspension, the bike employs traditional forks
at the front and dual gas charged shock absorbers at the rear. The Royal
Enfield 750 will lock horns with Harley-Davidson Street 750, and the bike is
likely to cost around INR 4 lakh when it launches this financial year. Expect
the ABS variant at an INR 20k-30k premium over the standard bike.
