Chevrolet launched the 2018 Chevrolet Beat Notchback
in Mexico earlier this month. This is the same model that the company was going
to launch the Chevrolet Beat Essentia in India, had it decided not to exit the
domestic market.
The 2018 Chevrolet Beat Notchback was developed as a
sub-4 metre model, and that has remained unchanged for export markets too. The
Mexican-spec 2018 Chevrolet Beat is 3,995 mm long, 1,597 mm wide and 1,522 mm
tall. It has a 2,375 mm-long wheelbase and offers a boot space of 385 litres.
It is available with only engine – 1.2-litre MFI petrol. The four-cylinder
engine develops 81 hp at 6,400 rpm and 108 Nm of torque. A
5-speed manual transmission channels drive to the wheels. There’s no option for
an automatic or an automated manual transmission.
Chrome door handles, electrically adjustable ORVMs
and 14-inch alloy wheels are the 2018 Chevrolet Beat Notchback’s exterior
highlights. Inside, the car has black fabric seats, power windows (front and
rear), steering mounted audio controls, 7-inch Chevrolet MyLink touchscreen
infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and six speakers.
Dual-front airbags are standard, but ABS is reserved for the top-spec LTZ
grade.
The 2018 Chevrolet Beat Notchback is available in
LS, LT and LTZ grades in Mexico. Its prices start at MX$ 157,900 and go up to MX$ 200,800.
