Coimbatore based KitUp automotive has revealed a
modified Jeep Compass with subtle exterior changes. Finished in a bright red
shade, the modified Jeep Compass sports body colour finish on the otherwise
black exterior trims on the front and rear bumpers and around the wheel arches.
KitUp has added black detailing under the tail lamps and grille to match the
gloss black roof.
The customizer has given the factory fitted alloy
wheels a titanium finish along with red highlights. The special lighting
package adds LED headlamps and LED fog lamps, which are not available on the
standard trims. An SRT badge sits in the bottom right corner of the tailgate
but seems a bit out of place since the changes are purely cosmetic. KitUp’s
Facebook page also mentions a ‘custom audio’ setup, but does not shed light on
the details.
This particular example of the Jeep Compass is
powered by a 2.0 L diesel paired to a 6-speed manual. Changes have not been
made under the hood, and it continues to churn out 173 PS and 350 Nm. A 4×4
system is also offered with this engine option.
Jeep launched the Compass in India on July 31 and
managed to clock 10,000+ bookings until earlier this month. Prices start at INR
15.16 lakhs, up by 21,000 over the launch price of INR 14.95 lakhs thanks to
the increment in GST. Diesel variants now start at INR 15.99 lakhs (ex-showroom
Delhi). The range-topping Jeep Compass Limited (O) 2.0 Diesel manual 4×4
retails for INR 21.37 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
