prices have leaked online, courtesy livedoor Blog. The all-new Suzuki Swift
Sport is now just days away from its world premiere at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor
Show.
The 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport’s prices will range from
JPY 18,36,000-20,50,920 in Japan. Buyers will
get to select from six configurations. For its third generation, the Suzuki
Swift Sport has adopted turbocharging for improved efficiency. It packs the
modified version of the Suzuki Vitara’s K14C 1.4-litre BOOSTERJET engine. This
four-cylinder engine puts out 140 PS at 5,500 rpm and 230 Nm of torque from
2,500-3,500 rpm. Suzuki has made the engine torquier (+10 Nm) for the Swift Sport.
6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic are the
transmission choices for the 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport. Front-wheel drive
drivetrain layout is standard. In the JC08 test cycle, the Sport variant has
received a fuel economy rating of 16.4 km/l (MT)/16.2 (AT). The car weighs 970
kg in the manual transmission model and 990 kg in the automatic transmission
model, and has the same width as the regular model – 1,735 mm.
The 2018 Suzuki Swift Sport gets its unique exterior
styling with a sporty body kit, 17-inch black alloy wheels shod with 195/45 R17
tyres and dual exhausts. On the inside, Suzuki has equipped its budget hot
hatch with special bucket seats with red stitching and “Sport” branding,
stainless steel pedals and genuine leather-wrapped steering wheel with red
stitching. Red highlighting on the door panels, dashboard and centre console
and inside the instrument panel give further add to the sporty appeal.
A previously leaked document suggested that the
all-new Swift Sport will go on sale in Japan on 20 September 2017. A first-ever
Maruti Swift Sport was rumoured last year, but no update has emerged since
then.
