Guangzhou Auto Trumpchi GM8 is almost ready. The
Trumpchi GM8 is a new mid-size 7-seat MPV. It will be launched on the Chinese
car market in December, trying to get Guangzhou Auto into the booming MPV
segment.
The GM8 will be powered by turbocharged 2.0 liter
four-cylinder engine with 200 horses and 320 Nm, mated to a six-speed automatic
transmission.
The instrument panel has analog dials, and that is
somewhat odd, as most competing brands are going fully digital. The main touch
screen appears to be 10 inch in diameter, but it won't control very much as
there is a shipload of buttons below it.
In the back we see two fancy flat screens for the
passengers and comfortable leather seats with a foot rest.
This is likely a high-end model, aimed at families
with those annoying screaming creatures called kids. Switch on a cartoon and
they'll be silent all the way down to Guangzhou (the city).
