Skoda Auto India has launched the Octavia RS priced at INR 24.62 lakhs (ex-showroom). The hot version of the executive sedan employs a 2.0 L TSI petrol that propels it to 100 km/h from a standstill in 6.8 seconds. The car started arriving at dealerships late last month.

Powered by the same four cylinder 1,984 cc turbocharged petrol engine as the Audi TT. The 230 PS of peak power comes in at 5,500-6,200 rpm. While maximum torque of 350 Nm is delivered from 1,500 rpm to 4,500 rpm. The Skoda Octavia RS can go on to hit a top speed of 250 km/h. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed DSG. There are disc brakes all around and the car benefits from an electronically regulated XDS+ limited slip differential.

There are several visual cues that set the Skoda Octavia RS apart from the standard variants. It gets sharper front bumpers with larger air inlets with a honeycomb lattice grille pattern and RS badging on the grille. At the back, there is a boot spoiler and a chrome tipped twin exhaust pipe setup along with a reflective strip that runs along the length of the bumper. The Skoda Octavia RS rides on Hawk Anthracite 17-inch alloy wheels. It gets LED headlamps, fog lamps, and LED tail lamp detailing.

The RS treatment to Octavia’s cabin entails Alcantara front sports seats with contrast red stitching and ‘RS’ etched into the headrest. The rear bench seat gets a similar treatment. A flat bottom steering wheel, ‘RS’ badges on the steering and gear knob and additional red stitching on the upholstery round up the changes made to the cabin.
