Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will unveil two new
Amaroks at the Frankfurt Motor Show. First up, the Amarok Aventura Exclusive
concept features a Turmeric Yellow Metallic exterior with chrome accents and
19-inch alloy wheels. The truck has also been equipped with bi-xenon
headlights, faux aluminum skid plates, and a cargo cover.
The unique styling continues in the cabin as drivers
will find black leather seats with Curcuma Yellow contrast stitching. There's
also a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a black roof liner, and an infotainment
system with GPS navigation.
Power is provided by a 3.0-liter TDI V6 engine that
produces 258 PS (190 kW). It is connected to an eight-speed automatic
transmission which is paired to an all-wheel drive system. Volkswagen will also
introduce the new Amarok Dark Label.
Based on the Amarok Comfortline, the
special edition features an Indium Grey matte exterior with matte black mirrors
and a matte black roll bar. Other highlights include 18-inch alloy wheels and a
revised grille with lacquered chrome accents. The interior largely carries over but designers
installed a black roof liner and special floor mats with embroidered Dark Label
logos.
Under the hood, two different TDI V6 engines will be
available. The entry-level model has 163 PS and features a six-speed
manual transmission. The range-topping variant boasts 204 PS and can
be connected to either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The
Amarok Dark Label will be available this spring and German pricing starts at
€ 33,714 (US$ 40,084).
