Volkswagen will
launch the VW Polo 10th Anniversary Edition in India. Volkswagen is yet make an
announcement, but images published by AutosArena leak the details.
Volkswagen offers the regular VW Polo in Trendline,
Comfortline, Highline and Highline+ grades. The VW Polo 10th Anniversary
Edition is based on the VW Polo Comfortline. It appears to have a matte grey
body paint, white and red stripes and 15-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, the
special edition model has black seat covers. With no concrete plans for the
fifth-gen Polo’s replacement in the near future, Volkswagen should continue
bringing such special editions to keep the Polo in the minds of the customers.
Based on the VW Polo Comfortline, the VW Polo 10th
Anniversary Edition should feature dual-beam headlamps, front fog lamps,
electrically adjustable ORVMs, ambient lights, rear defogger, rear windshield
wash and wiper, monochrome MFD, front and rear power windows and CD player with
Bluetooth connectivity. Dual-front airbags and ABS are standard in the Polo
range.
The VW Polo 10th Anniversary Edition’s
configurations are currently unknown. The VW Polo/VW Polo GT is available with
75 PS 1.2-litre MPI petrol and 90 PS 1.5-litre TDI diesel/105 PS 1.2-litre TSI
petrol and 110 PS 1.5-litre TDI diesel engines. Transmission choices include
5-speed manual and 7-speed DSG automatic (GT-only). The special edition Polo
will go on sale in India by October. Volkswagen plans to introduce new schemes,
exchange benefits and loyalty bonus up to INR 20,000 during the 2017 Volksfest.
