Maruti Suzuki will
likely launch the facelifted Maruti Celerio. The refreshed 2017 Maruti Celerio
was recently spied at a dealership yard, courtesy GaadiWaadi.
The Maruti Celerio apparently receives a front-end
quite similar to the Maruti Celerio X, save for the application of black colour
on various elements. With the facelift, the Maruti Celerio gets a redesigned
upper grille with a chrome strip at the top, a hexagonal lower grille and a sharper
bumper at the front. The profile looks the same as before; even the alloy
wheels have the same design. Inside, Maruti Suzuki could bring revisions to the
upholstery and trim, and add a touchscreen infotainment system to level up with
new competitors.
The current Maruti Celerio is 3,600 mm long, 1,600
mm wide and 1,560 mm in width. The K10B 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine should
also remain unchanged. It produces 67 hp and 90 Nm of torque in the
petrol model. This engine’s CNG-compliant version develops 79 hp and
78 Nm of torque in CNG mode. 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual will
continue as the transmission choices.
The Maruti Celerio’s prices start at INR 4,03,125*
and go up to INR 5,23,713*. No major revisions are expected here. With
dealerships having started receiving the new model, the launch will likely take
place this month.
