Ever since Cadillac boss Johan de Nysschen confirmed
the arrival of a new sedan called the CT5, models such as the ATS, XTS and even
the CTS have had their days numbers. Until those cars get phased out, Cadillac
still has some updating to do when it comes to its sedan portfolio, where
models such as the CT6 are up for some facelift treatments.
These prototypes were spotted by reader Brett
Borgard in Colorado, and it would appear we have a whole bunch of saloons in
various stages of camouflage, with the 2019 facelifted CT6, the one with the
false double headlights, making a cameo appearance.
It's wearing the same type of camouflage as this
facelifted 2019 CT6 spotted by our spy photographers in Europe. Despite the
heavy layer of confusing patterns, we can expect this car to feature a revised
front fascia and a few interior updates as well - semi-autonomous tech,
connectivity, that sort of thing.
The 2019 CT6 could receive a
high-performance variant, if not two, while multiple powertrains could be
utilized, such as an upgraded twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6, a twin-turbo V8, or
perhaps even the 6.2-liter V8 from the Corvette Z06.
As for the CTS, it's possible we're looking at a
facelifted version of that as well in some of these images, although it's the
CT6 that has continuous tear drop lights, whereas the CTS normally has its
headlights split down the middle. So it does seem like Cadillac might have
given the CTS some CT6-styled lights.
