The BMW 740Le is still somewhat of a novelty when it
comes to large luxury saloons. It's spacious, full of tech, reasonably fast,
yet very fuel efficient. Back when this car was first presented, BMW claimed it
could drink as little as 2.1 liters/100 km (134.5 mpg UK), combined with some
really low emissions (between 51 and 45g/km).
Yet, putting your foot down would convince its 326
PS hybrid powertrain to take you from 0 to 100 km/h in just
5.5 seconds, which is pretty good considering the size, weight and amount of
horsepower the car has.
A resident of the
Bavarian automaker's Abu Dhabi dealership, it's wearing an M Sport kit, which
does a good job at communicating the 7-Series' dynamic intentions. Other mods
include the 3D Design front spoiler, Alpina boot lid spoiler, carbon fiber
mirror covers and 21" M Performance wheels.
It's also got a dual-tone leather interior, with
wood inserts on the dashboard, door panels and center console. Put everything
together and you're undoubtedly looking at one of the world's most luxurious
and eco-friendly saloons.
