The countdown to the SEMA Show continues as Hyundai
and Blood Type Racing have released the first details about the BTR Edition
Elantra Sport concept.
Set to debut later this month, the one-off model is
based on the Elantra Sport and features AutoArt body and paint work as well as
custom headlights. Designers also installed a "track-ready" lip kit,
a rear wing, and 19-inch wheels with Toyo T1 Sport tires.
The sporty styling continues in the cabin as drivers
will find a carbon fiber steering wheel, upgraded upholstery, and
diamond-stitched floor mats. Other highlights include LED lighting and a custom
tool set in the trunk.
Under the hood, the turbocharged 1.6-liter
four-cylinder engine has been equipped a new intake, an optimized ECU, and a
Devil’s Own water/methanol injection system. There's no word on performance
specifications but the standard model has 201 hp and 264
Nm of torque.
Besides the upgraded engine, the car has an HSD
coilover suspension and a Fella Big Brake kit. Rounding out the changes are
sway bars, a strut tower brace, and a chassis brace from Pierce Motorsports.
