The festive season witnesses a flurry of special
edition launches by manufacturers in a bid to cash in on the increased demand.
Staying true to that tradition, MSIL has launched the Maruti Alto 800 Utsav
special edition with cosmetic enhancements.
The Alto 800 special edition features a host of
cosmetic updates to catch prospective car buyers’ attention. The front bumper
gets angular chrome garnish along with circular chrome applique around the fog
lamps. Red-yellow decals adorn the sides of the Alto 800. Chrome garnish has
also been added to the tail lamp area and on the lower lip of the boot lid
along with ORVM casing garnish. The
cabin gets new seat covers, and Maruti has also added reverse parking sensors
to the features list.
The Maruti Alto 800 Utsav special edition is based
on the VXi trim. The additional accessories on offer push the price up by
around 20,000 Rupees, which means the Maruti Alto 800 Utsav edition should cost
around INR 3.55 lakhs. However, confirmation from MSIL’s end is awaited.
A 796 cc F8D three-cylinder petrol engine powers the
Maruti Alto 800. It produces maximum power and torque of 35.3 kW and 60 Nm
respectively. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual
transmission. Maruti’s least expensive hatchback measures 3,430 mm long, 1,295
mm wide, and 1,475 mm tall riding on a 2,360 mm wheelbase. The Maruti Alto 800
range starts at INR 2.46 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
