The Maruti Celerio X was recently spied completely
uncovered at a dealership yard, courtesy GaadiWaadi. The new spy shots released
by the publication fully expose the car’s exterior.
The Maruti Celerio X’s launch colour is a shade of bright
orange. It features a uniquely designed black radiator grille, a hexagonal
black air dam grille and gloss-black inserts covering the portion of fog lamp
housing at the front. The body cladding for a rugged look starts from the sides
at the front, continues covering the flared fenders and side underbody and
merges into the rear bumper that features brushed silver accents.
The Maruti Celerio X features gloss black ORVMs, as
well as roof bars and body side moulding. The units spotted have steel wheels,
but top-spec configurations will swap those for black alloys. Inside, the
adventure styled Celerio could have unique upholstery and trim to go with the
distinctive exterior theme.
Maruti Suzuki will release the Celerio X in eight
configurations, namely VXi, VXi (O), VXi AMT, VXi AMT (O), ZXi, ZXi (O), ZXi
AMT and ZXi AMT (O). In these configurations, the Celerio is equipped with
keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, 60:40 split rear seats, power
windows (front & rear), CD player with Bluetooth connectivity, four
speakers, steering mounted audio controls, ABS and dual airbags.
The Maruti Celerio measures 3,600 mm in length,
1,600 mm in width and 1,560 mm in height. The Maruti Celerio X will have minor
changes in this aspect due to the bigger bumper and the wheel arch cladding.
Under the hood, it could have the same K10B 1.0-litre petrol engine as the
regular Celerio. The three-cylinder engine develops 67 hp at 6,000
rpm and 90 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. According to a leaked ARAI document, transmission
choices will include 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual. Prices could
start at around 4.30 (ex-showroom).
