McLaren recently showed a mule for its upcoming
hypercar, codenamed the BP23, and E Milano has decided to make a rendering of
what the production model could look like.
Heavily based on the 720S, the rendering has a
familiar appearance but the car has been equipped with a roof-mounted air
intake. Additional changes are limited but the model appears to have a larger
front splitter and side skirt extensions.
The BP23 will become part of McLaren's Ultimate
Series and serve as a successor to the P1. The company hasn't revealed much
about the car but it will feature a McLaren F1 style seating arrangement where
the driver sits in the center of the car and is flanked by a passenger seat on
each side.
Performance specifications remain unconfirmed but
the BP23 is expected to use a hybrid powertrain with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8
engine. This could enable the car to have more than 1,000 hp and a top
speed in excess of 386 km/h.
Production will be limited to 106 units and each
model is expected to cost around US$ 2.5 million. Unfortunately, all of the cars
have already been sold.
