Mini is offering a new special edition model named
after a district in London. Unfortunately, it's only available in France.
Called the Blackfriars edition, the special Mini
hardtop draws its name and inspiration from the eponymous London neighborhood,
the monks who built their priory there in 1276, and the black capes they wore.
The special-edition hatchback, as you might have
guessed, is all decked out in black: the bodywork, the matte accents on the
C-pillars, the interior, even the wheel hubs.
It also gets the requisite special badges, and comes
bundled with a slew of extra equipment, including LED headlights, parking
sensors, glass sunroof, 6.5-inch infotainment display, fabric- and
leather-upholstered sports seats, the works.
Mini France will offer the special edition on three-
and five-door models, in base One or premium Cooper trims, and with an array of
four gasoline and diesel engines. Just don't expect to see any “men of the
cloth” driving them around London.
