The Kawasaki W175 SE, the Japanese brand’s
entry-level classic motorcycle has been spotted at a dealership in Indonesia.
The Kawasaki W175 SE variant gets exclusive colour
scheme to demarcate it from the regular variant. The design of the motorcycle
is retro, thanks to the single piece seat; round halogen headlamp; matte black
pea-shooter exhaust, and spoke wheels with black rims. The motorcycle was spied
in the country in September, and will reportedly be launched this year.
The 175 cc SOHC 4-valve
engine is based on the Kawasaki Eliminator 175. The single cylinder engine
features air-cooling and carburettor to keep the costs affordable. Front
telescopic forks with gaiters; and dual rear hydraulic shock absorbers hold the
single downtube frame. The spoke wheels are shod with IRC tube tyres. For
anchorage, the motorcycle employs a front disc with two-piston calliper, and a
rear drum.
The website reports that the upcoming motorcycle
will cost IDR 29 million for the standard variant; and IDR 31 million for the
SE version. The Kawasaki W175 would be the third retro offering from Kawasaki
in Indonesia after the W800 and the Estrella. It would also be the most
affordable offering retro motorcycle from Kawasaki in the country. Expect more
details about the motorcycle in the coming months.
