In September, BMW unveiled the BMW Concept X7
iPerformance at IAA 2017. This month, the concept SUV had its Middle East debut
at the 2017 Dubai Motor Show.
The BMW Concept X7 iPerformance is the concept version of the future SUV BMW X7. The BMW X7 will take
on full-size luxury SUVs like the Mercedes GLS, Land Rover Range Rover and the
Lexus LX. The concept version has captivating size and proportions, but a
polarising front end, which is new to the BMW X family. It has an extravagant
cabin with six individual seats, 12.3-inch instrument cluster screen, a
state-of-the-art infotainment system, rear-seat entertainment system with
touchscreen monitors and a number of other premium features.
The BMW X7 will ride on the CLAR rear-wheel drive
platform. Its concept version is a plug-in hybrid that combines the BMW eDrive
technology with a BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine. In addition to such an
iPerformance plug-in hybrid variant, the BMW X7 will have a standard variant
likely with just V6 and V8 petrol and diesel engines. Standard xDrive AWD
system is a given.
BMW has confirmed that it will introduce the BMW X7
in 2018. The new flagship SUV’s production will take place at the Spartanburg
plant in the USA, beginning in late 2018.
