Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has
launched its Advanced Urban scooter, the Honda Grazia in the country at a price
of INR 57,897, ex-showroom, Delhi.
The Honda Grazia boasts of many segment first
features. For starters, the scooter features a full LED twin headlamps for
optimal illumination. The low beam uses two LEDs of 4.35W and the high beam
gets two LEDs of 8.7W. There are four LEDs below, acting as position lights.
The instrumentation is an all-digital affair, and has a tachometer as well;
apart from the usual equipment like speedometer, trip meter, odometer, fuel
gauge, and clock.
Another noteworthy feature is the 3 Step Eco
indicator. It consists of three lights, and when the rider rides the scooter
steadily between 30-50 kmph for more than 2.16 seconds, it activates all the
three lights indicating best mileage. The lights stay off if the rider stays at
full throttle at speeds below 30 kmph or above 50 kmph, thereby indicating that
the resulting mileage will be poor. The Eco Speed indicator can be turned off
if necessary.
The Honda Grazia also comes with 4-in-1 lock with
seat opener switch. This eliminates the need to remove and slot the key in the
side panel to open the underseat storage. There is also a utility pocket on the
fairing to store mobile phone. It comes with an optional mobile charging port
as well.
Powering the Honda Grazia is a 124.9 cc single
cylinder engine with fan cooling. The powerplant produces 8.6 PS of power at
6,500 rpm, and 10.54 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine mates with a
variomatic transmission. The powerplant is the same as the one in the Activa
125. The Grazia rides on telescopic front forks, and a rear monoshock. For
braking, it uses 130 mm drum or 190 mm front disc, and a rear 130 mm drum. The
brakes come with CBS as an option.
The Honda Grazia is available in six colours- Matte
Marvel Blue Metallic; Neo Orange Metallic; Pearl Amazing White; Pearl Night
Star Black; Matte Axis Grey Metallic, and Pearl Spartan Red. There are three
variants- Standard, Standard alloy, and Deluxe. The deliveries will start in
top 35 towns from today for major urban markets, and the scooter will be
available pan-India by the end of December. The booking amount is INR 2,000.
