Ornithopter Designs, a Nashik-based motorcycle
custom house has created a chopper version of the Royal Enfield Electra 350
called, ‘Charcoal’.The classic-looking Royal Enfield Electra 350 has
gone under the knife and the transformation into a chopper is quite radical.
The twin headlamps complement the muscular, large teardrop tank.
Accentuating
the laid-back feel further are the custom handlebars, and the chiselled custom
seat. The bodywork is all custom, and the bike does away with an instrument
cluster for an unfettered riding experience. The leather strips on the fuel
tank and the seat give the chopper a vintage appeal. The rear fender holds the
minimalistic LED tail light and the number plate is on the swingarm, on the
side.
The 346 cc single cylinder engine appears to be
stock, apart from the exposed conical air filter. The stock engine makes 19.8
bhp of power at 5,250 rpm, and 28 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine works
in tandem with a five-speed gearbox. The engine and its casing are all black,
which enhance the dark theme of the bike. The custom exhaust features black
heat wrap as well. The other exhaust pipe is a merely for the cosmetic appeal.
The front end features telescopic fork, while the
rear appears to use monoshock with a custom swingarm. They have swapped the
spoke wheels with black alloy units, shod with fatter rubber to justify the
character of this chopper. The rear tyre is a 200-section unit, and both the
front and rear wheels use disc brakes for anchorage.
