Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2018 Hero Super
Splendor iSmart 125 in the country, reports Gaadiwaadi.
The 2018 Hero Super Splendor iSmart 125 gets changes
to the bodywork, new graphics and a bigger seat as well. The motorcycle draws
power from the in-house 124.7 cc single cylinder engine. The powerplant puts
out 9.12 PS at 7,000 rpm, and 10.35 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine mates with a
four-speed transmission, and also features iSmart technology. This helps in
conserving fuel by automatically switching off the engine while idling in
traffic. The mill switches back on when the rider presses the clutch lever.
Cycle parts of the 2018 Hero Super Splendor iSmart
125 include telescopic front fork; and twin 5-step adjustable hydraulic rear
shock absorbers. Coming to braking duties, the motorcycle gets 130 mm drum
brakes on both ends. There is no disc brake equipped variant as of now.
Hero retails the previous generation motorcycle at
INR 56,215, ex-showroom, Delhi. Expect a price hike of around INR 1,000 for the
new version. Deliveries of the bike will begin from January 2018. The 2018 Hero Super Splendor iSmart 125
rivals the Honda CB Shine, Bajaj Discover 125, Bajaj V12, and Yamaha Saluto.
