The 2018 Hero Passion Pro has
been launched in India. The motorcycle now sports an updated design, with
a bigger 110cc engine.
The 2018 Hero Passion Pro features tweaks to the
bodywork. The plastic portion under the tank is eliminated to make room for the
new, bigger engine. Speaking of which, it is the same 109.2 cc engine that does
duty in the iSmart 110 and the 2018 Hero Passion XPro. The mill develops 9.5 PS
of power at 8,000 rpm, and 9 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The powerplant works in
tandem with a 4-speed gearbox.
The engine comes with the iSmart feature, which
helps in reducing fuel consumption by switching the engine off while idling in
traffic. The powerplant comes back to life on pulling the clutch lever. The
motorcycle comes with telescopic front fork, and twin rear shock absorbers. For
braking, the bike uses 240 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum. A less
expensive front 130 mm drum variant is also available.
While Hero has not announced the price of the 2018
Hero Passion Pro, expect the bike to be around INR 2,000-3,000 more than the
previous generation bike. The older bike costs INR 52,339 for the drum brake,
alloy wheel version and INR 54,244 for the disc, alloy variant. Both prices are
ex-showroom, Delhi. Deliveries of the new motorcycle will commence from January
2018.
