Honda Australia has released pricing and specs for
the updated 2018 Odyssey range, kicking off from AUD 37,990 before on-road
costs. The MY18 Odyssey has been treated to a number of upgrades in noise,
vibration and harshness (NVH) suppression, along with changes to the exterior
and interior design.
Entry-level VTi cars now get the chromed ‘aero’
grille previously reserved for higher-spec models, along with chrome-ringed
front fog-lights. It’s priced from AUD 37,990 before on-roads, an increase of
AUD 380 over the outgoing car. Honda Sensing isn’t available on the car at this
stage, although that may change down the track if Stephen Collins, Honda
Australia’s director, is anything to go by.
Jumping to the VTi-L boosts the price to AUD 47,590 –
AUD 1100 more than before – and brings a new bumper, LED front fog-lights and a
‘dark-chrome’ finish on the grille and door handles.
It also gets Honda Sensing as standard, which means
adaptive-cruise control, forward-collision warnings, autonomous emergency
braking (AEB), lane-departure warning, road-departure warning and lane-keeping
assist.
The car rides on two-tone 17-inch alloy wheels, and
the rear fascia, badge and tailgate have been reworked as well. Second-row
passengers will notice plusher headrests on their captain chairs and extra
storage pockets, while front-seat passengers benefit from a re-trimmed
instrument panel and doors, a new start button and folding door mirrors.
Perhaps more importantly, the VTi-L now boasts a
peak towing capacity of 1000 kg. Both models are available in two new colours:
Cobalt Blue pearlescent and Platinum White pearlescent, which replace Modern
Steel metallic and White Orchid pearlescent. All paint colours are no-cost
options.
