The 2018 Mahindra Pik-Up has been detailed for the
Australian market, with the new-generation ute range to kicking off from AUD 21,990
drive-away. There are be four variants available across two trim grades at
launch, with the entry-level price-leader to join in “early 2018”. Single- and
dual-cab body styles are offered, along with cab chassis and “well-side tub”
trays.
Headlining the updates include a refreshed exterior,
a new six-speed manual transmission, more power from the turbo-diesel engine,
and an overhauled interior.
The 2.2-litre turbo-diesel now develops 140 hp of

decent step up from the outgoing model’s 120 Hp/280 Nm outputs – mated to a
six-speed manual transmission. Additionally, all versions of the Mahindra
Pik-Up are fitted with an Eaton mechanical-locking differential as standard.
Significant updates have been made inside the cabin,

navigation in the top-spec S10 grade.
Automatic headlights and wipers are also available
on the flagship S10, which also gets automatic climate control air-conditioning
over the base model. Other highlights for the top-spec grade include cruise
control, remote central locking and a rear-view camera.
In terms of safety, the entire Pik-Up range is
fitted with hill-descent control, ESC, ABS, EBD, roll-over mitigation and a
suite of airbags. The new-generation model now gets headrests and lap-sash
seatbelts for all passengers, along with two Isofix anchor points in the rear
