The Lexus RX 450h will become cheaper in the near
future, with the base price starting at US$ 46,690. This makes it more affordable
than the current model by US$ 7,450, but there's a big catch, because Toyota's
luxury brand has also dropped some extensive equipment from the standard list,
CarsDirect reports, after confirming the change with a Lexus spokesperson.
Some of the features that are gone and can be had as
optional extras are the leather and heated/ventilated seats, Premium Package,
which if ordered requires a moonroof that comes at US$ 1,350, sat-nav and blind
spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert.
Adding all of these features will bump the price of
the 2018 Lexus RX 450h to US$ 52,975, a US$ 1,055 drop compared to the 2017MY.
Joining the RX hybrid family next spring is the 450h
L, with its three rows of seats, which pairs the 3.5-liter V6 engine with two
electric motors that make a combined 308 hp. Lexus still hasn’t announced
pricing for this model, but the regular RX L comes with an MSRP of US$ 47,670 in
front-wheel drive, and US$ 1,400 more for the AWD version.
