A Chinese company by the name of G. Patton has unveiled a 6x6
variant of the Jeep Wrangler which it dubs the Tomahawk. Showcased at the 2016 Chengdu Auto Show, the car takes a standard Wrangler and adds an extra axle at
the rear to make it reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6.
In order to create the Tomahawk, G.
Patton cut the American off-roader behind the C-pillar and then added an
enclosed pickup truck bed. It also went about outfitting the Pentastar
3.6-liter V6 engine with a supercharger and, while no performance figures have
been released, the added oomph should help offset the added weight.
Much of the vehicle's exterior styling remains unchanged from the
Wrangler with the exception of a bespoke front fascia and grille and some
tweaks to the rear. A set of 17-inch alloy wheels with 35-inch Mickey Thompson
tires have also been installed as has a remote-controlled electric winch.
The interior is also standard Jeep with this initial display model
bathed in orange surfaces and leather. If the G. Patton Tomahawk does make its
way into production, it will be sold exclusively in China.
