Image of the production version of the Hero XTreme
200S has leaked online courtesy GaadiWaadi. The bike looks more or less similar
to the concept version that was showcased back in February 2016 at the Auto
Expo.
Since the design of the concept was relatively
conservative, the production version has stayed true to the concept version.
Going by the leaked image, the intake on the tank extension was slightly
larger, and Hero has replaced the carbon fibre finish in the middle portion of
the bodywork with black plastic. Hero has replaced the two-tone seat with a
black unit. The front fender design looks similar to the concept bike. However,
the rear fender is now shorter. The motorcycle features LED DRLs as well.
The Hero XTreme gets an all-new 200 cc single
cylinder engine with air-cooling. It makes 18.6 PS of maximum power at 8,500
rpm and 17.2 Nm of peak torque at 6,000 rpm. The bike uses telescopic forks at
the front and monoshock at the rear. The brakes will include discs at both
ends. The ABS ring is visible on the front wheel indicates that the feature
will be offered.
The Hero XTreme 200S will rival the TVS Apache RTR
200 4V in the segment. Hero will launch the bike in around February 2018 at the
2018 India Auto Expo. Other competitors in the 200cc segment include the KTM
200 Duke and Bajaj Pulsar NS 200.
