Bajaj Auto has taken the wraps off the 2018 Bajaj
Dominar 400. The power cruiser now comes in three new colours: Rock Matte
Black, Glacier Blue, and Canyon Red. There are no changes in the prices.
The new colours draw inspiration from the terrains
conquered by the bike. All the three colour variants come with gold-finish
alloy-wheels. The body panels are in the new colours, while the frame,
suspension and swingarm are all black.
The 2018 models feature only cosmetic updates, and
the mechanicals are unchanged. The 2018 Bajaj Dominar 400 employs the same
373.3 cc single cylinder mill with liquid cooling and fuel injection. It makes
35 PS of power at 8,000 rpm, and 35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The powerplant
works in tandem with a 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch. The motorcycle
can reach a claimed top speed of 148 km/h; and has a 0-100 km/h acceleration
time of 8.23 seconds.
Bajaj has equipped the
Dominar with 43 mm telescopic front fork, and a rear Nitrox monoshock. The
17-inch alloy wheels are shod with 110-section front and 150-section rear
radial tyres. Brakes include 320 mm front disc and 230 mm rear disc, with
twin-channel ABS as an option. The fuel tank can hold 13 litres of juice.
The 2018 Bajaj Dominar 400 costs INR 1,42,108 for
the non-ABS version, and INR 1,56,270 for the ABS variant. Both prices are ex-showroom,
New Delhi. The Dominar 400’s competitors in the price segment include the Royal
Enfield Thunderbird and Classic 350, and the UM Renegade range.
