The launch of Indian
Roadmaster Elite will take place next month, but only one unit is allotted to
the country. As per the website, the Indian Roadmaster Elite is
INR 60 lakhs on-road, and is INR 8 lakh more expensive than the standard
Roadmaster.
Understandably, the Roadmaster Elite comes with all the bells and
whistles and also, exclusivity in the form of real 23K gold badging on the
tank. The bike boasts over 128 litres of weatherproof storage in total. The
side and top panniers are remote-lockable as well. The lighting system is
full-LED, the windshield is electronically adjustable and the seats get
independent heat controls. The bike comes with a 7-inch multifunction Ride
Command display and 300-watt Bluetooth compatible audio system too.
The 2018 Indian Roadmaster Elite draws power from a
1,811 cc Thunder Stroke V-twin engine with six-speed transmission. The engine
produces 161.6 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. Cruise control, keyless ignition and
ABS are standard. A belt drive sends the power to the wheel.
For braking, the tourer uses dual 300 mm front discs
and a single 300 mm rear disc. The 16-inch alloy wheels are shod with Dunlop
Elite 3 tyres. The motorcycle rides on 46 mm cartridge-type front fork, and a
rear monoshock with air adjust. The fuel tank capacity stands at 20 litres, and
the bike weighs a massive 433 kg, wet. The bike has a limited production run of
300 units worldwide and will be a CBU offering.
