The 2018 Mahindra XUV500 has appeared in a new spy
video posted by YouTube user Official Gamerx. The spy video gives a close look
at the facelifted model’s exterior changes.
The New Mahindra XUV500 will
receive its second facelift. While the current XUV500 has S-shaped LED DRLs,
the new XUV500 has a straight LED stripe above the headlamp beams on the edge
of the housing. Other changes at the front will include a new radiator grille
and a new air dam grille. On the sides, newly designed 10-spoke alloy wheels
are expected, while at the rear, spy media has shown a revised license plate
housing on the tailgate.
The 2018 Mahindra XUV500
will feature performance upgrades. The current model’s 2.2-litre mHawk diesel
engine is tuned to deliver 140 hp and around 330 Nm of torque. The new model’s
2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine will reportedly develop 170 hp and around 400 Nm
of torque. It’s unknown whether the 1.99-litre version of the current 2.2-litre
engine will receive similar upgrades.
Mahindra has not yet announced the 2018 Mahindra
XUV500, but reports last year had said that the launch will take place early
this year. The company could debut the new model at the Auto Expo 2018 next
month.
