The low-cost version of the Mahindra Mojo has been
spotted at a dealership. Rushlane reports that the bike is called the Mahindra
Mojo UT300.
The Mahindra Mojo UT300 features a number of
cost-saving equipment to make it more competitively priced. The
bike loses out on upside down front fork, and gets traditional black fork
instead. The gold ‘ribs’ on the frame, and the swingarm are now in black. The
bike uses a single exhaust instead of the dual unit in the existing Mojo.
Another major change includes the fuel supply
system. The bike comes with carburettor instead of a fuel injection system. It
also does away with the twin horn setup in favour for a single unit. Expect the
engine output of the bike to reduce marginally owing to the carburettor. The
standard Mahindra Mojo employs a 295 cc single cylinder, DOHC engine with liquid
cooling and fuel injection. The mill pairs with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine
is capable of producing 27 PS of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 30 Nm of peak
torque at 5,500 rpm.
The rear continues with a monoshock, and the alloy
wheels are shod with MRF Nylogrip tyres instead of the Pirelli Diablo Rosso II.
With all these cost-cutting measures, expect the bike to be around INR 30,000
lower than the price of the standard bike. The standard variant costs INR
1,74,520, ex-showroom Delhi. Mahindra is likely to launch the bike in the
coming months, and will rival the Yamaha Fazer 25 and Royal Enfield Classic 350
in the segment.
