Subaru has given the Viziv Concept a more aggressive
stance, and probably some changes beneath the skin, as they're now going to
unveil it at the 2018 Tokyo Auto Salon this week. Named Subaru Viziv
Performance STI Concept, it features a more aggressive front end, a muscular
hood, wide wheel arches, large rear wing, red accents, and an 'STI' badge on
the front grille.
It's unknown at the moment what engine it carries,
but since it's expected to preview the next generation WRX STI, which is due in
a few years, it's likely powered by a new boxer engine, smaller than the
current 2.5-liter unit that makes 305 hp.
STI will also have a
couple of other hot cars on display in Tokyo, from January 12, such as the
Levorg STI Sport and BRZ STI Sport. These will be joined by the BRZ GT300 2017,
WRX STI NBR Challenge 2016, Legacy RS 1993 New Zealand Rally, and Impreza 555
1996 San Remo Rally racers.
The WRX STI S208, a track-ready version of the car
aimed solely at the Japanese market, will sit under the spotlight of the event
as well.
