Suzuki will launch a new variant of the Suzuki Ignis
called Suzuki Ignis SE in Indonesia this month. Images published by motoris
have leaked the new variant online.
The Suzuki Ignis SE is the production version of the
Suzuki Ignis G-Urban concept from GIIAS 2017. It looks quite similar to the
Suzuki Ignis Adventure announced in the UK last week. ‘SE’ in the car’s name
stands for ‘Sport Edition’. It features extra body cladding, silver front and
rear skid plates, silver garnish on the side skirts, black alloy wheels and
sporty rear spoiler. Only one interior feature is known so far, a 7-inch
touchscreen multimedia system with Bluetooth connectivity.
The Suzuki Ignis SE should employ the same engine as
the Suzuki Ignis. The regular variant uses the K12M 1.2-litre four-cylinder
petrol engine that produces 83 PS at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4,200
rpm. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or the 5-speed AGS
automated manual transmission.
The Suzuki Ignis SE will go on sale in Indonesia
later this month. It is unknown whether Suzuki will launch the new variant as a
permanent addition to the range or as a limited-edition model.
