Suzuki motorcycles has announced the price of its
latest modern café racer, the Suzuki SV650X for the UK market. The motorcycle
comes at a launch price of GBP 5,999.
This makes the Suzuki SV650X GBP 300 more expensive
than the SV650. Suzuki has designed the SV650X with a mixture of traditional
and neo-retro styling, tempered with a modern engine and chassis technologies.
The bike is a production derivation of the SV650 Rally Concept which was
displayed at Osaka and Tokyo Motorcycle Shows in 2016.
Powering the Suzuki SV650X is a 645cc V-twin DOHC
mill with liquid cooling and fuel injection. The powerplant makes 76 PS of
power at 8,500 rpm, and 64 Nm of torque at 8,100 rpm. The engine pairs with a
6-speed transmission. The engine comes with technologies like Low RPM Assist
and Suzuki Easy Start System.
For suspension, the SV650X employs preload
adjustable telescopic front fork, and link-type rear monoshock that is preload
adjustable as well. Brakes include 290 mm twin front discs, and a 240 mm rear
disc, both with ABS. In the UK market, Suzuki offers a range of styling,
protection, and luggage accessories for the motorcycle as well.
The Suzuki SV650X rivals Ducati Scrambler Café
racer, and Triumph Street Cup in the café racer segment. The Street Cup costs
GBP 8,800 On The Road (OTR); while the Scrambler Café Racer has a Suggested
Retail Price of GBP 9,650.
