The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu has been spotted testing
in public again, this time with slightly more exterior details revealed. Here
we can see its redesigned headlamps with changes to its internal assemblies
such as indicators, while the upper and lower sections of the grille have
wavier-pattern slats instead of the straight items on the pre-facelift,
ninth-generation car.
The crease lines on the Malibu’s sides appear
largely similar through these spy images, and around the rear, the bootlid and
rear quarter panels appear to have remained the same as well, although the
lamps have been revised. The rear bumper looks unchanged, while the exhaust
outlets at the bottom of the bumper are now of a flatter shape.
Interior details are still yet to surface, though
the revised Malibu can be expected to employ details as used in recent models
such as the Cruze and the Equinox. Similarly, updates to the infotainment can
be expected to include the change to Chevrolet’s latest MyLink setup.
In terms of powertrain, the revised Chevrolet Malibu
is expected to employ the 1.6 litre turbodiesel currently serving in the Cruze
as well as the Equinox, along with the current 250 hp/350 Nm turbocharged
petrol four-cylinder. A hybrid variant could well continue to feature here,
too.
