If you take the original 4C Concept and sprinkle a
few modern Alfa Romeo design cues on it, you might just end up with something
that looks very menacing indeed. The way designer Khashayar Jenabi went about
creating this concept involved a two step process. First, he completely
redesigned the 4C, and then he took that rendering and made an Abarth version
of it.
While the rear end design looks original enough,
albeit with some Giulia elements clearly visible, the front seems to borrow
some cues from the Bugatti Chiron hypercar. Other notable design elements
include the two piece rear wing, shark-like air intakes and, on the electrified
version, a blue cover masking the exhaust pipe.
The concept was drawn up in multiple configurations,
with different rear diffusers and front spoilers, and though it’s just a
rendering, it would be a fitting successor to the gorgeous 8C Competizione
supercar.
In the real world, Alfa Romeo is doing its best at
making a comeback, with models such as the Giulia saloon and Stelvio SUV
earning multiple awards since their debuts. But while the 4C and 4C Spider have
received mostly positive reviews, they really aren’t supercars, are they?
This concept does look like a supercar
should and would be an exquisite halo car for Alfa Romeo, much more so than the
4C. The latter, though, is supposed to be replaced, probably this year, so
there’s a chance it might grow up and play with the big boys instead of the
Porsche 718.
