The Bajaj Avenger 180 Street has been spied again,
inside the premises of what appears to be a dealer yard. Autocar reports that
the bike costs INR 83,400, ex-showroom, Mumbai and that the bookings are open.
As per the website, the deliveries will commence in
8-10 days post payment completion. The headlight nacelle and the flyscreen are
similar to the one in the 2018 Bajaj Avenger 220 Street. The graphics are
similar to the bigger bike, and the exhaust design is the same as the 2018
Avenger 220 Street model. The instrumentation, however, is the same analogue
unit with digital inset which the Avenger 150 uses. The fuel tap comes with a
lock, and the handlebar lock is located on the steering head.
The Bajaj Avenger 180 Street borrows its engine from
the Pulsar 180. In the Pulsar, the 178.6 cc engine with 5-speed transmission
punches out 17.02 PS at 8,500 rpm and 14.22 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Expect the
Avenger’s heart to have a cruiser-friendly state of tune.
Cycle parts include telescopic front fork wrapped
with gaiters and twin rear shock absorbers. The alloy wheels are shod with MRF
tires, and the rims come with rim stickers as well. For braking, the Avenger
180 employs a disc up front and a drum at the rear. There is no ABS in this bike
either. When launched, it would compete with the Suzuki Intruder 150 in the
sub-200 cc cruiser segment. The Intruder 150 costs INR 1,02,072, ex-showroom
Mumbai.
