Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has unveiled the
2018 iteration of its bread-and-butter model, the Honda Activa 5G.
The Honda Activa 5G gets subtle upgrades over the
previous generation scooter. It now comes with a new Deluxe variant. The new
variant features digital-analogue instrument cluster with ECO speed indicator
and Service Due Indicator; full LED Headlamp and position lamp, which Honda
claims is industry-first in any 110cc two-wheeler.
The Activa 5G also features
a new front chrome garnish. The scooter is available in two new colours: Dazzle
Yellow Metallic and Pearl Spartan Red. Other features include front hook;
4-in-1 lock with seat opener switch and retractable rear hook; and a more
durable metal muffler protector.
The mechanicals are the same as the previous
generation Activa. The tried-and-tested 109.19 cc HET engine makes 8 bhp at
7,500 rpm; and 9 Nm at 5,500 rpm. With the variomatic transmission, the scooter
can reach a claimed top speed of 83 km/h.
Cycle parts are still the same link-type front
suspension and a single rear shock absorber. The scooter comes to a halt using
130 mm drum brakes on both ends, with Combined Braking System (CBS).
