While we are waiting for Mercedes-AMG to roll out
its new Black Series models, we can check out Vath’s upgraded C63s. The Coupe
and Cabriolet versions of the range-topping C-Class have received the tuner’s
turbochargers, with new downpipe and oil cooler for the engine and gearbox, new
valve exhaust system and a reprogrammed ECU.
This allows the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 to produce
an impressive 700 PS and 900 Nm of torque. As a result, naught
to 100 km/h takes a claimed 3.3 seconds and top speed has increased to
340 km/h.
For the right sum, Vath would gladly fit your
Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe and Cabriolet with a high-performance braking system,
which includes 6-piston calipers, 390mm discs, braided stainless steel lines,
sport brake pads and racing oil.
Additionally, a lowering kit, which brings the
entire car 20-40 mm closer to the ground, is also available, while
those looking for an enhanced experience can order the complete suspension kit,
with its double-spring system and oil pressure shock absorbers.
A set of 8.5×20-inch front and 10×20-inch rear
wheels round up the list of updates on the outside, while a new speedometer,
which points up to 360 km/h, and floor mats made of black velour, are
the only changes inside.
The power upgrade costs € 12,800 (US$ 15,860), to which
another € 3,440 (US$ 4,262) are added for the exhaust system. Getting the improved
brakes will set you back another € 3,900 (US$ 4,832), the lowering kit costs € 690
(US$ 855), and the suspension kit can be had from € 3,500 (US$ 4,337).
The wheel set is € 2,800 (US$ 3,469), while the
attachment kit is priced at € 250 (US$ 310). Finally, the speedometer is also an
extra and costs a cool € 1,980 (US$ 2,453), plus € 150 (US$ 186) for mounting, and the
floor mats are a measly € 190 (US$ 235).
All this adds up to € 29,700, which equals to US$ 36,800
at today’s exchange rates, and that’s before tax. Plus, you’ll have to supply a
Mercedes-AMG C63, of course.
