The impending Mercedes-Benz GLB has been snapped
testing with the least amount of camouflage so far. Recently spied having some fun in the snow, this GLB
prototype is largely bathed in the same black and white camouflage as previous prototypes.
The German automaker was kind enough to strip away some of the camo at
the rear end, allowing us to get a good glimpse at the vehicle’s taillights.
Fittingly, they look very similar to the taillights that feature on most SUVs
in the current Mercedes range.
Underpinning the GLB will be the same MFA2
architecture as the GLA. Despite the common platform, the GLB will be slightly
larger than the GLA and can be expected to adopt some exterior styling
inspiration from the all-new generation A-Class.
In the cabin, the GLB will
be quite similar to the A-Class as well. Consequently, the new MBUX
infotainment system of the small hatchback will make an appearance in the SUV.
The similarities between the A-Class and GLB won’t stop here.
The
Mercedes-Benz GLB is tipped to arrive by the end of 2019 before landing in
showrooms in 2020.
