The updated Mazda6 will make its UK debut
this summer, boasting revised styling, a better cabin, more tech and an
improved engine range. Prices range from £ 23,045 to £ 32,795, with the Tourer
and Saloon range featuring 24 different versions, spread across four trim
levels in the SE-L Nav+, SE-L LUX Nav+, Sport Nav+ and GT Sport Nav+, the
latter also getting Mazda’s 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine, with cylinder
deactivation.
Inside the 2018 Mazda6, buyers will enjoy a larger
8-inch infotainment display, a 7-inch LCD screen positioned in the driver’s
instrument binnacle, and a full color head-up display, or Active Driving
Display, as Mazda likes to call it.
All models will come with LED lights front to back,
rain-sensing wipers, heated auto power-folding door mirrors, leather-wrapped
steering wheel, driver lumbar adjustment, electronic parking brake, dual-zone
climate control, engine start/stop button, front and rear power windows, cruise
control, DAB Radio / CD player, sat-nav and more.
Elsewhere, you get Hill Hold Assist, High Beam
Control, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Return, Radar Cruise
Control with Smart Brake Support, Advanced Smart City Brake Support,
Intelligent Speed Assist and Lane Keep Assist, at no extra cost.
Opt for the SE-L LUX Nav+ trim and you’ll gain black
leather seats, heated front seats and steering wheel, 4-way power adjustable
driver seat with memory, 2-way power adjustable front passenger seat, power
driver lumbar adjustment and a reversing camera. Meanwhile, the Sport Nav+
grade adds 19″ alloys, LED daytime running lights, Adaptive Front Lighting, LED
signature rear lights, Smart Keyless Entry, a premium surround-sound system
from Bose with 11 speakers, plus the choice of two available options in the
Stone leather (instead of black) and the Safety Pack (360-degree camera,
Adaptive LED headlights, Rear Smart City Brake Support, Driver Attention
Alert).
Finally, the flagship GT Sport Nav+ trim brings with
it a sunroof, rear bumper glossy paint, Nappa leather, front seat ventilation,
rear seat heater, dedicated interior color co-ordination, special steering
wheel stitching, frameless auto-dimming mirror, LED white illumination 7″ color
meter set and the Safety Pack is standard.
As for available engines, aside from the new
2.5-liter SkyActiv-G unit with 194 PS and 258 Nm of torque, buyers
can also get the 2.2-liter diesel engine, which has been upgraded to 184 PS and
445 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G has also been
enhanced with new intake ports, new pistons, revised fuel injection and
cooling.
